"Climate Champions North Rhine-Westphalia"

Doing sports and protecting the climate: EnergieAgentur.NRW and the regional sports association North Rhine-Westphalia elect the “Climate Champions NRW”. Holger Nikelis (wheelchair table tennis champion) oversees the awarding for Sports for Future. “Through this awarding, sport clubs and municipalities should get motivated to create own ideas to avoid CO₂emissions and to put them in practice. Sport connects and together we can achieve more than one of us alone,” says Nikelis. The “Climate-Champions”-award will be conferred in summer 2020. Best practice associations ensure increased awareness and public relations work via the media of the LSB NRW and its partners. There is also prize money totalling 5,000 Euros. NRW. BANK is a sponsor.
