Heute starten wir die Kampagne „BadmintONEarth“ der Badmintonspieler*innen Miranda Wilson und Kai Schäfer.

Their goal is to contribute to climate protection and implement the first reforestation and climate project in badminton, whether to offset tournament travel, league match days, or shuttlecock consumption in clubs. In collaboration with the Zenaga Foundation gGmbH, the project will not only involve tree planting but also support the local population and promote solar energy. The project will be implemented in the city of Bankana in the DR Congo.

Through the collaboration of numerous national badminton players, an initial budget has been pooled, enabling the planting of the first fruit trees on-site and the acquisition of a "Solar Education Backpack."

With a donation of 200 euros, the area of an entire badminton court can be planted with trees, including the implementation of additional solar energy measures. Approximately 20 trees fit on a badminton court, resulting in a unit price of 10€ per tree+.
