For the second time, The Football Foundation for Africa hosts the Africa Football Business Summit (AFBS) in Nairobi, Kenya, on 14th and 15th September 2023 with the subtitle “Transforming our game”. The goal is – among others – to find and define partnerships to share knowledge and learn from each other. Since Sports For Future plays an important role in sustainable development in Germany and in the sports world, the cooperation with the Football Foundation for Africa was the logical consequence. In April 2023, the Football Foundation for Africa signed the Sports for Future statement and has been part of our Sports For Future network ever since. In the future, we want to support each other and implement projects and workshops. The starting point will be the attendance, panels and workshops of Sports For Future at the AFBS in Nairobi on 14th and 15th September 2023.
Our chairman, Stefan Wagner, and Brian Wesaala, founder of the Football Foundation for Africa, used the summit as a state to announce our cooperation once again publicly. The starting point was the attendance, panels and workshops of Sports For Future at the AFBS 2023 in Nairobi.
Furthermore, we want to implement discussions and workshops in collaboration with the new initiative “SPORTS20” aimed at fully transforming sports across all 17 SDGs. We define sustainability “from the end” and consider six central areas of action:
It addresses three principles that outline the ideal of sustainable action. This should help to identify central controls and levers for substantial contributions as well as to initiate effective changes in one’s own sphere of influence and beyond. Through the international cooperation with The Football Foundation for Africa, this vision of the future of sport is placed on all relevant platforms.
We are looking foward to our partnersip and will inform you about the latest news!
