The Georg-Kerschensteiner-Schule is already an old acquaintance: In the past two years, the school organized two charity runs, the proceeds of which benefited our reforestation campaign Sports4Trees.

Also in May 2023, the school in Holdorf organized a charity run. Prior to the event, students sought sponsors who pledged a certain amount for the meters and kilometers they ran. This resulted in a total of 1,650 euros for Sports4Trees! The sum will be donated to the Community Comprehensive Secondary School in Ikot Ekpene Udo, a city in the state of Akwa Ibom in Nigeria. The school is part of the Green Schools project, which we implement in collaboration with the Zenaga Foundation and ACEARD. The schools contribute to climate protection by reforesting fruit trees. Additionally, educational efforts are enhanced through improved infrastructure and "climate protection" lessons, while community cohesion is strengthened by improving physical education and sports equipment.

In total, with the charity runs in 2021, 2022, and 2023, GKS Holdorf has already supported its partner schools in Nigeria with a remarkable total of 5,850.84 euros, serving as an absolute role model! We sincerely thank them for their partnership and support.
