The Certificate Course in Sports Sustainability Management is a professional development program for sports organizations of all kinds. It is a collaboration between the Nuremberg Campus of Technology (NCT), RENN (Regional Hubs for Sustainability Strategies of the German Council for Sustainable Development), and the NGOs Sports for Future and Fair Play Alliance.
This practical course is aimed at those responsible in sports clubs, leagues, and associations, as well as other business and non-business organizations in and for sports, who want to develop or further enhance and systematically implement a sustainability strategy. It specifically targets sustainability managers in sports and leagues where overarching sustainability strategies are defined and criteria for operation are established, requiring qualified personnel (e.g., BBL, DEL, DFL, DFB, HBL), as well as for major sporting events. Additionally, it is relevant for all engaged individuals from sports clubs and organizations for whom sustainable development is a central framework for the future viability of sports.
The course provides foundational understanding, strategically structured approaches and tools, specific expertise, and practical skills from real-world applications. Networking among participants, even beyond the course, supports further development. The course concludes with a combined NCT university and RENN certificate “Sports Sustainability Manager” after successful completion of an individual transfer project.
The next course starts on October 8, 2024. All information about the program and registration can be found here.
