On November 30, 2023, at the 28th UN Climate Conference in Dubai, we will unveil our framework for a fully sustainable sport at 4:30 PM (local time) in the German Climate Pavilion and at 7:00 PM at the WWF Panda Hub.
SPORTS20 was founded by Sports for Future and IMPCT gGmbH. This non-profit collaborative platform introduces new tangible ways in which sport can help achieve and benefit from the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). SPORTS20 creates a cross-sport framework for comprehensive contributions to all 17 SDGs. It aims to enable all sports organizations and actors—whether large sports federations, professional clubs, ambitious recreational associations, or individual athletes—to map out goals and areas of action for their own transformation.
The SPORTS20 network and framework will be presented in two different panels at COP28. In the German Climate Pavilion (November 30, 4:30 PM local time / 1:30 PM German time), the focus will be on the vision of a transformed sports world and how we can achieve this future version with our strong international network. SPORTS20 – another world is possible!
Participating in the German Climate Pavilion are: Luisa Neubauer, Nike Lorenz, and Eckart von Hirschhausen.
